FEDERAL SOLAR TAX CREDIT
The Solar ITC provides a 26% federal incentive tax credit to help offset the cost of a solar installation. Although the incentive rate drops to 22% effective January 1, 2021, businesses can preserve the higher incentive rate by incurring 5% of the total project cost or by beginning physical work on the project by the end of 2020. At the end of 2021, the ITC drops to 10% for all commercial projects.
